BIOGRAPHY

Cong (b.1982) lives and works in Shanghai. In 2008, she received her MFA in Oil Painting from School of Art of Soochow University.

Cong captures individual experiences with rich, enduring traces, her reclusive lifestyle allowing her glimpses into the abundance of the ordinary, while maintaining a clarity and caution, observing the tumultuous changes of the outside world. With lyrical and naive strokes, her artwork freely blossoms, forming the spiritual essence of the scenes depicted. Her brushstrokes are transformations of her inner sanctum, and the wandering journey of her soul represents her brave approach to a chaotic and void world.
