Yuyu Wang （b.1991, Shanxi）graduated from the MFA Sculpture Department of Slade School of Fine Art in 2016. Currently, she works as an independent artist based in Shanghai.

Yuyu’s practice revolves around the liminality of “movement” of body and objects. She believes that the authenticity of everyday life can be expounded through somatic experiences. Her work explores how the sensual and physical level of experiences could be transformed through different methods (image, material, text, performance, sound, etc.) to discuss the relationship between the individual and the contemporary landscape of social life. Her recent practice is focused on the “nameless” manmade fields in urban and natural environments as well as cinematic contexts, and how the body could participate in the creation of narratives in such contexts.
