Guan Xiao builds her hyperlink with globalizing world and individual conditions in such context by creating image systems. Sunset is related with the idea that “we read our world through numberless illuminative surfaces”. In Guan’s studies for the perception and consumption in Internet Era, the study of illuminative surfaces is applied to “the special way to build a knowledge-assimilating connection among the audience, illuminative surfaces and the Internet”, and it reminds us to realize that “the distinction between the environment of the nature and that of the society is also the the distinction between reality and the virtual world”. With the help of the particular moment of sunset as well as the audience’s corresponding experience, the artist tries to build a sense of trust from the audience for another kind of natural environment in the virtual world.
