Antenna Space is pleased to announce that we will present artists  Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel and Noel McKenna to the Beijing Contemporary 2026 Art Fair in Beijing, China at 2026.

The sculptures of Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel can be understood through the concept of “Sylvan thinking,” which involves viewing the world as an ecosystem from a perspective that transcends the human. Employing traditional craftsmanship and utilizing the natural grain and texture of oak, they juxtapose human body parts with natural forms, such as snails, giant rabbits, or cockles, seeking a balance between primal organic textures and industrial aesthetics. This process not only reflects humanity’s potential to harness productive forces but also prompts a humble re-examination of our place as integral components within the organic world. It is not merely a reconfiguration of material states but a field practice exploring the complex interconnections between bodily experience, functional objects, and the rhythms of life.

Noel McKenna’s imagery is intimate and everyday, his days, like the animals, architecture, and interior settings that recur in his paintings, are tranquil, peaceful, and cyclical. Whether it is a puppy pausing on a staircase or a serene dwelling from personal memory, his work conveys a mood that is both figurative and tinged with a surreal sense of detachment. Noel’s reverence for the divine in animals borders on the devout. Through his daily life spent in close proximity to them, even the most ordinary moments can inspire spiritual insight. This imbues his depictions of animals with an air of mystery, guiding viewers to reconsider the relationship between the individual and their environment within these seemingly mundane scenes.
